One of the most common questions we get is, “Can you put a tent on concrete?”

The answer is yes! Tents are actually a lot more versatile than people sometimes realize.

While grass is probably the first surface that comes to mind when you picture a tent, we can install tents on grass, concrete, asphalt, and other hard surfaces.

Grass? Absolutely.

Grass is one of the most common surfaces for tent installations. When we’re working on grass, we typically use stakes to secure the tent directly into the ground.

As long as the area is suitable for staking and has enough space for the tent, grass is a great option for weddings, parties, corporate events, and everything in between.

Concrete? No Problem.

This is where a lot of people are surprised!

We can absolutely install tents on concrete. Instead of using stakes, we use concrete blocks to safely secure the tent.

Our blocks are a safe and reliable alternative to traditional staking, making it possible to have a tent in spaces where staking simply isn’t an option.

Think parking lots, concrete patios, driveways, courtyards, event spaces, and more.

What About Asphalt?

Asphalt can also be an option for tent installations. Just like concrete, we can use blocks instead of stakes when staking into the ground isn’t possible.

This gives you even more flexibility when choosing where to host your event.

Does That Mean a Tent Can Go Anywhere?

Not quite!

While our block system allows us to install tents on many different surfaces, every tent site must be reviewed and approved before installation.

The surface itself is only one part of the equation. We also consider the available space, ground conditions, surrounding structures, access for our equipment, overhead obstructions, and other site-specific factors to make sure the installation is appropriate and safe.

So, if you’re looking at a space and wondering, “Could we put a tent here?” — don’t count it out just because it isn’t grass!

Send us a photo or reach out to our team so we can review the space and determine if it’s a good fit for a tent installation.

At Brooks & Reid Events & Rentals, we’re here to help you make the most of your event space—whether that’s a backyard, venue lawn, parking lot, or somewhere a little more unexpected!
